Is there a 2020 Mustang GT?
The 2020 Mustang lineup includes the GT fastback, GT Premium Fastback, GT Premium Convertible, Shelby GT350, Shelby GT350R and, at the peak, the all new Shelby GT500, host to the most power-dense supercharged V8 production engine in the world with 760 thunderous horsepower. Here are a few highlights of these models:
Inside, GT350 exclusive features include aluminum trim and a flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and leather. RECARO sport front seats trimmed in a mix of Carbon Weave cloth and Miko inserts help hold you firmly in place—turn after turn.
The GT350 and GT350R Heritage edition package includes authentic details that pay homage to the 55-year history and performance of the Mustang GT350. Features include:

The Shelby GT500 uses race-inspired premium materials for a reason. A purpose-built cockpit with available RECARO racing seats and a class-exclusive 12-inch full color LCD instrument cluster create the perfect environment for when you’re maxing out this high-powered vehicle. On the outside, its aerodynamic design comes complete with a rear spoiler and the largest-ever hood vent on a Mustang.
This intricate body rests on all-new 20-inch flow-formed high-gloss black aluminum wheels and new Michelin tires specifically developed for the GT500. It also features the largest Cobra snake badge ever, available front splitter wickers and an available adjustable carbon fiber rear wing.
The GT500 is the most powerful street-legal production Ford has ever built as well as the quickest accelerating model in the lineup. It delivers tire-smoking, pin-you-to-your-seat performance by pairing a new 5.2L supercharged V8 with a TREMEC 7-speed transmission, the first ever dual-clutch transmission in a Mustang, required because it generates so much torque. Capable of shifts under 100 milliseconds—markedly faster than any manual transmission—the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is the fastest-shifting production Mustang ever.
A muscular hood with a massive louvered vent extracts air quickly for greater downforce and improved cooling. Functional pins help keep the composite hood locked down tight. And with a nod to adrenaline junkies everywhere, the GT500 was designed with fighter jets in mind. The result is a precise and aerodynamic exterior and a top speed of 186 mph.
With an ergonomic build and superior powertrain, the GT500 takes performance to new heights as the fastest Mustang ever on a straight line and around curves. Other standard features include a MagneRide Damping System, the largest brake rotors ever on a production Mustang and an active valve performance exhaust that delivers the soundtrack you expect from a 5.2L V8.
It’s easy to heel-and-toe the 6-speed manual transmission in the head-turning, heart-pounding GT350 and GT350R. Keeping your heart rate under control behind the wheel? Much, much harder. Its flat-plane crank 5.2L V8—producing 526 horsepower—is just one example of its audacious engineering. AUTOMOBILE Magazine says, “Power from the 5.2L V-8 is delivered in a mighty and manageable wave, and there are few things in this world as wonderfully twisted as winding out a Ford Mustang—a Mustang!—to 8,250 rpm. And the noise. My God, the noise”.
With the available GT Performance Package, you’ll get Brembo 6-piston front calipers with larger brake rotors, a TORSEN limited-slip differential, heavy-duty front springs and so much more. Available GT Performance Package Level 2 adds the MagneRide Damping System and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, as well as track-inspired calibrations for the chassis, springs, sway bar and stability control system.
