What are the differences between the Explorer XLT and Limited?
The primary differences between the Explorer XLT and Limited are the standard and available equipment. The Explorer Limited comes with 20-inch allow wheels rather than the 18-inch on the XLT. XLT comes standard with features such as satellite radio, LED headlights, a six-speaker audio system, rear privacy glass, smartphone integration for Apple and Android, a power liftgate, four USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a driver information display, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, a power driver’s seat, split second-and third-row seats, a power passenger seat, roof rails, a leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, heated exterior mirrors, improved cloth upholstery, sound-reducing front windows, and an improved driver information display.
In addition to these features, Limited comes standard with a wireless charging pad, upgraded rear brakes, a surround-view parking camera system, power-folding exterior mirrors, a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system, HD radio, a hands-free tailgate, a 110-volt household-style power receptacle, driver’s seat memory controls, second-row sunshades, a power-adjustable steering wheel, power-folding third-row seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-folding and heated second-row seats, leather interior, and ventilated front seats.
Standard safety features on the XLT include a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, automatic emergency braking, blindspot alert, pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic alert, pre-collision alert, lane departure warning and mitigation, and a system that applies the brakes after a collision to minimize the effects of another collision.
The Explorer Limited adds front parking sensors, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a system that aids the driver with evasive maneuvers to prevent an accident.
