Serving Savannah, Pooler, and Richmond Hill, GA

Seven years ago, Ford decided to cease production of the Ranger pickup, citing disinterest in compact and mid-size trucks. The Ranger is back for 2019, and the return of this model is a result of a renewed interest in a work truck that doubles as a city-driving and adventure machine. Good fuel efficiency, an agreeable payload maximum, and the latest in high-tech and safety features should make the 2019 Ford Ranger a bestseller.

This five-passenger pickup will be available in multiple trims, and there will be a special off-road version available as well. The new Ranger is being built with a strong steel body, and the interior of this four-door will be airy and expansive in design. Below is a more detailed summary of what the new 2019 Ford Ranger brings to the table.

Trim Choices

The 2019 Ford Ranger will be offered in XL, XL Chrome, STX, XLT, XLT Chrome, XLT Sport, and Lariat versions. All trims will be available as supercab and super crew cab styles. All-terrain capability and all-wheel drive will highlight the performance specs. The versions of each trim vary mostly in terms of exterior styling and the amount of chrome trim accents. A special off-road version known as the FX4 Off-Road package will be available at the launch date. This package will add on bash and skid plates, all-terrain tires, and an innovative status screen that monitors pitch and roll as well as the steering angle of the front wheels.

Engine And Powertrain

Under the hood of the 2019 Ford Ranger will be the latest version of the highly touted EcoBoost engine. The Ranger gets a 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder that produces a total of 280 horsepower. It's mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This is the same engine found in the current year Ford Explorer. A hybrid version hasn't yet been announced, but Ford does plan to add on a hybrid or all-electric version of most all its models in the next few years.

Standard Features

The 2019 Ford Ranger will be offered with ebony or medium ash interior tones, a waterproof storage compartment underneath the rear seat, and cargo box rails. Depending on trim, buyers will get the FordPass Connect feature with Wi-Fi hotspot, connectivity of up to 10 devices, and a host of driver assist systems as either standard or optional equipment. Adaptive cruise control can be added on as a stand-alone option or as part of a package. Leather upholstery will be available, and several interior upholstery trim options will also be offered.

This is going to be a revolutionary truck from Ford, bearing little resemblance to the vehicle that bore the name Ranger in years gone by. It's a work truck, but it's also a fun and adventure machine. Learn more about it by contacting us at J.C. Lewis Ford in Savannah, GA.
